Richard Porter
Overview
Richard Porter (b. 1988, UK) is a British artist and publisher whose multidisciplinary practice spans visual art, performance, publishing, and curation. His work explores memory, queerness, disappearance, and the politics of visibility. His solo exhibition Night Glyph was held at Amanda Wilkinson Gallery, London, in 2021. He has participated in group exhibitions including Origin Story at Gordon Robichaux, New York (2023), Derek Jarman’s Modern Nature at John Hansard Gallery, Southampton (2022), and I Know Where I'm Going, Who Can I Be Now at The Modern Institute, Glasgow (2021). In 2017, he founded Pilot Press, an independent publishing project focused on queer narratives. He curated A Horizon is Not Straight (Tenderbooks, London, 2021) and co-hosted QUEERS READ THIS at the ICA, London (2018–2022). Porter lives and works in London and holds an MFA from Goldsmiths, University of London (2019).
