I have started making paintings that relate to drinking, this is not about alcohol, but relates to alcohol in some way. It is more about ingesting liquid, thirst, desire.. the mouth / vessels. The mouth as something that talks, sings, but also eats, consumes has has sex. The mouth as the entrance or exit to internal fantasy. Someone climbs inside, or out. It is slippery, wet, and fast. A vista passing out of view. Embarrassed but joyful about doing. Aileen Murphy, 2020 Aileen Murphy (Born Sligo, 1984, lives and works in Berlin), graduated from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin (2007) and then studied under Amy Sillman and Monika Baer at Städelschule Frankfurt, graduating in 2018. Recent exhibitions include Temple Bar Gallery, Dublin. https://amandawilkinsongallery.com/exhibitions/183/overview/
