‘Ice Cream with Salt/ Ice Cream with Pepper’ (2010) sees the artist provide ice cream seasoned with salt and pepper for gallery visitors and attendees. The unexpected combination is a small adventure and revolution in daily life, and acts a metaphor for experience to tempt visitors into trying new sensations. Shimabuku has served the ice cream on a boat trip as part of the Sharjah Biennal 11 and at Café Opus at Ikon gallery, Birmingham.
